the story

On October 6th, 2023, I was in Israel and was planing to join a group of friends at the Nova Festival. At the time, I was still getting over jetlag and decided last minute it would probably be best not to go – this decision saved my life.

When I returned home to New York, it became my mission to do anything I could to support the people who had survived the attacks of October 7th. I started baking challah as a way to raise money for Metiv, a world-reknowned psychotrauma center in Israel. With help from friends, we sold challah every Friday and were able to donate generously each week.

After many months of baking, delivering and getting feedback from the community, I realized we were building something much bigger than I intended.  Our challah bake sales were encouraging people to practice tradition and to reconnect with their roots, simply by having a challah on their table.

And so the idea for Braided was born – a challah subscription that is both meaningful and delicious. Thank you for being a part of this journey, we're so glad you're here.
